Scott Copeland's Season One Galactica Blaster Minimize
I picked this up at Wonderfest, it's a 1:1 rotocast replica of the Season One Blaster from the new Battlestar Galactica TV series. Whover did the master did an exceptional job, it looks VERY close to the onscreen props.

This was a pretty simple build, the kit consist of the one piece gun body, a barrel extension, and a few real metal allen-head screws to dress it with. I added a piece of brass tuning to the muzzle of the rocket launcher. The mold part seam was kind of a PIA on this gun kit, but with patience and careful puttying and sanding you can get her smooth.

After addressing the seams, and carefully wet-sanding the entire gun, I shot it with a few light coats of Krylon Ultra Flat Black. Though the Krylon rattle cans work ok, I find if you use the paint thru an airbrush, you can avoid paint building up in the grooves and crannies. I sealed the gun with a few light coats of Krylon Crystal Clear, then masked the grips and airbrushed them with Badger Acylic Brown darked with a dab of Burnt Sienna. Last step was to weather it lightly with brass, silver, and pewter buffable metal wax, I kept it subtle, the props onscreen look used but not beat-up like guns in the Star Wars series. I highlighted the crest on the grip with drybrushed MM "brass"

All in all I was really impressed with this kit, it builds a very striking looking replica with a little work and effort! The hollow feature is nice too, electronic-savvy guys can easily add lights and sound effects. And it looks great with my Season Two Blaster!
