Shawn MacLeod's Aurora Batmobile Minimize
Here are some pictures of an Aurora Batmobile I restored. I say restored because the model was quite a mess when I got it and had been painted by what appeared to be a 8 year old.

In order to strip all the old paint off I soaked the car in a container filled with castrol superclean. I let it soak for about a week. For those of you who are chemists out there, super clean is a very heavy base and is awsome at stripping old paint from plastic,I've also found that it won't hurt the plastic either, as long as every once in a while you check on the model you are stripping and rinse it off. Once the paint starts to rinse off easily then you know you've soaked it long enough! It also doesn't craze clear plastic parts, and will remove old glue from parts too!! It's really great stuff, and is a non toxic stripper which is biodegradeable to boot!! Just be careful to wear rubber gloves when handling your parts as it is highly corrosive to your skin and will burn it!

Anyways, once the parts were stripped and rinsed and cleaned, I gave the body a wet sanding with 400, 800, and 2000 grit sand paper. The car was then primed, and resprayed in flat black. The red lining was done by hand, about 3-4 coats, and then the whole car was sealed with 2-3 coats of clear.

I kit bashed a set of new chrome rader like rims and added some red metal bat spinners to the wheel hubs. It turned out fairly nicely and I've just recently bought another beater Aurora which is even worse off than this one was. I'll post some pics of it when it is done.

Also with this set of pics I've included another custom Corgi Batmobile I just recently finished.
These cars are great to practice your skills on and can be a real joy to do whenever you want to make yourself a fairly quick and nice representation of everyones favorite Bat-Car!! I've made close to 50 or more by now and I have about another 30 to restore. They're great fun and you can pick up some really cool custom figures to and other parts to make them even more detailed!!

I've yet to keep any of my Batmobiles, one of these days I hope to have my own collection of them, but for now they help pay down the debt. Hope you enjoy, any questions you'd like to ask me I'd be more than happy to answer.
