Monarch Models Announcements Minimize

Nosferatubuildup1.jpg  moonsuit.jpg

A nice build up of the upcoming Nosferatu kit was on display at Wonderfest.   That kit is now scheduled for a late July or August release.   Monarch owner Scott McKillop announced the next kits from Monarch. Look for the Ghost of Castle Mare, to be sculpted by Jeff Yagher with artwork by Gary Makatura. The follow up after that will be a 1962 Moon Suit, modeled after an early NASA design. It was later adopted by Mattel as one of their Major Matt Mason play sets. Look for these kits toward the end of 2007.   Nosferatu can be preordered through the CultTVman Hobbyshop.

More Fantastic Plasitic News! Minimize

delta clipper.jpg  rheinmetal.jpg

McDonnell Douglas DC-X "Delta Clipper" SSTO Technology Testbed Kit (1:72) -- The "Delta Clipper," first launched in 1993, was a one-third scale prototype of a single-stage spacecraft McDonnell Douglas hoped would launch both humans and payloads into orbit more cheaply and safely than the aging space shuttle. This 1:72 kit was mastered by Scott Lowther and cast by Acme Design, Inc. It features 41 pieces, including four posable body flaps, 4 launch stand doors and a visible engine bay interior. Decals are by JBOT and allow you to build either the "A" or "B" versions. Stands 8" tall.

Rheinmetal-Borsig VTOL Available for Pre-Order -- This kit depicts one of the most radical concepts put forth by German aircraft engineers in the waning months of WWII to provide critically needed defense against Allied bombers without using vulnerable air fields. These jet-powered fighters were designed to launch vertically but then -- unlike other "tail-sitters" -- land on a conventional airstrip using bicycle-style landing gear. This 15-piece kit was produced exclusively for Fantastic Plastic Models by Anigrand Craftswork of Hong Kong. The kit features a basic interior, clear resin canopy and decals by JBOT.

"Broken Arrow" B-3 Bomber Added to List of Upcoming Kits from the 1998 John Travola/Christian Slater action picture, "Broken Arrow." The 1:144 kit is being mastered by Scott Lowther and will feature landing gear, landing gear bays, visible bomb and a full rack of nuclear-tipped cruise missiles!

In addition, Fantastic Plastic has a number of new kits in development including and X Men jet and Star Wars kits.

Its not quite as good as it sounds. RC2/AMT seems to be getting out of the kit market in the US, but they appear to be licensing their molds in Japan. There are supposed to be reissues of the Enterprise B, C, D, and E kits later this year by a company called Platz. According to Hobbylink Japan, these will be out in July.

moebDrJ01p.jpg  captainaction.jpg  voyagerbox.JPG

Dr. Jekyll as Mr. Hyde made its debut at Chiller in April and put in a big appearence at Wonderfest in May.  By June, the kit was widely available in shops and selling well.   At Wonderfest, there was a special limted, numbered edition of a "Frightning Lightning" Jekyll.   Only 240 of these kits were available and all were sold within a week of Wonderfest.

Captain Action and The Voyager are the next releases, expected to be in stock as soon as August.   If you have not preordered these kits, now would be a good time to visit the CultTVman Hobbyshop!

Product Enterprise becomes Iconic Replicas Minimize
Product Enterprise is changing its name to Iconic Replicas. They will be changing their focus to limited edition, high end miniatures. The previously announced Irwin Allen diecasts have been canceled and will be produced as high end, expensive miniatures. This is unfortunate as modelers and fans really appreciated the line of Gerry Anderson diecasts. They've just posted some details of their 2 foot, lighted Seaview.
