Auto World, the company created by former Playing Mantis founder Tom Lowe, has licensed the rights to AMT, MPC, and Polar Lights from RC2, along with several other diecast product lines. Lowe announced the deal on March 7. In a post at a popular hobby forum, Lowe indicated he was close to signing a license for Star Trek kits, as well as licenses with Universal and Warners. This could mean some popular AMT and Polar Lights kits may be reissued soon.
This deal has been in the works for some time and it is know that other companies were interestest in these assets. Its going to take a bit of time for Lowe and his staff to get the company operational, and it is unknown what specific kits will be released. Stay tuned for details as they emerge.
